Frequently Asked Questions Minimize

Make sure to read these notes in conjunction with our terms and conditions.

Q. Why would I use your service rather than using my own technical staff?
A. Our interviewers are recognized experts from around the globe on the areas you wish to have covered in the interview. They can carry out the interviews without interrupting your staff (for whom interviewing might be a lower-priority activity), with a high degree of discretion (your staff don't need to know who is being considered) and in competencies that your staff might not yet be developed in.

Q. Can I have an interview conducted in another language?
A. Currently, we can only offer interviews in English. This may be revised in the near future. Contact us to let us know which languages you would like to see us support.

Q. What skills can be tested?
A. The skill categories that we can currently examine are shown on the Order An Interview page.

Q. How long will you spend with the candidate?
A. Each interview can take up to one hour. The interviewer will decide how long to spend on each area, depending on the responses from the candidate during the interview.

Q. Do you use the same questions for each interview?
A. No, we make sure that we vary the questions appropriately.

Q. I need several interviews done. Is there a discount for multiple interviews?
A. Yes, a multi-interview discount is available for prepurchasing ten interviews. The prepurchased interviews are non-refundable but are available for up to two years from the time of purchase.

Q. Can you email me the report?
A. Candidate reports can be emailed, faxed or (snail) mailed. You can specify this at the time of order.

Q. Can you guarantee me a good employee?
A. No. Great employees depend on much more than technical ability. For example, cultural fit is critical yet it cannot be determined by our technical interviews. We can make a solid assessment of the candidate's technical abilities keeping in mind the limitations of a telephone technical interview. We do, however, think you will be pleased with how comprehensive our interviews are.

Q. I'm not an employer. I'm applying for jobs. Can I use your services to assess myself?
A. Absolutely. We provide services to employers, recruitment agencies and individual candidates.

Q. I have previously purchased a multi-interview pack. How do I use it when ordering?
A. Simply specify the voucher number that we sent you at the time you purchased the pack on your order form. We will send you a reminder of the remaining voucher balance when we send your order confirmation.

Q. Do you want us to send you the candidate's resume or CV when placing an order?
A. No, our primary focus is to evaluate the candidate only on their current technical knowledge. This is unrelated to how the candidate gained their knowledge.

Q. How do I specify the level of expertise I am looking for in the candidate?
A. We rate each candidate on a scale of knowledge for each competency. The low end of the scale is for little or no knowledge of the subject. The upper end of the scale is for at or near expert knowledge of the subject.

Q. I am concerned that the candidate might try to fraudulently substitute another person at the phone interview. Is there any way to avoid that?
A. In general we find this does not happen. However, if you are concerned about this, please supply us with two or three questions and answers that the interviewer can ask the candidate at the time of the call to further establish their identity.

Q. I noticed your company is based in Australia. Do you provide interviews world-wide?
A. Absolutely. The only limitation is that the candidate must speak a language we currently support. We have interviewers in several countries and will use the most appropriate interviewer. This is based more on their abilities than on their location. We will charge you in Australian dollars. Your card company would convert it to your local currency. As a guide, on Dec 15 2007, the exchange rate was around 88cents AUD to 1 USD so a $395 AUD interview would have been about $347 USD.
